The story so far; I bought a Mk3 Roadster last year just before winter, rode it just enough before winter set in to figure out that it needed a bit of set-up (the bike hadn't been used much by its long-term previous owner) but is basically sound.
I was torn at the time between a 2A, in some ways my ideal, and the electric start Mk3. I'm thinking what I might do is make a 'Mk2B', combining the best of the two models. Ideally, I'd like to revert to the previous metal air box (possibly replacing the carbs with premiers, as carburation was a bit awry) and the old, smaller tail-light. I'm also wondering if it's possible to fit the high level exhausts of an S or SS to a Mk3? The other thing I'd like to try & address is the riding position; is it possible to fit rear sets to a Mk3? Does anyone make a nice set? I have to fix the electric start, but it sounds like I'm not alone in that!
I'm probably not the first to do any of this, anyone any first hand experience of what fits what?
