I have a Dominator with megaphones and love the sound, power, throttle response etc.
I also have a Commando SF with catless short pipes from Motad.
As much as I love my Dominator Naked, I also enjoy my Commando SF for longer rides but miss the sound of the megaphones.
I know what’s involved in fitting megaphones to a Commando and can easily do so, but my question is what Map would I use fitting the megaphones on my commando?

Norton may give some input on this. Start with a Domi open megaphone map and work your way down ? You must really get noticed when you leave home hey ? David started an open megaphone domi when I was there and " Holy Christopher " at idle it is a spectacle . When he raises the throttle I am looking around for the police.

Lol.
Idle, throttle and down shifts are all awesome. I live in a rural area so I don’t have many neighbors. But when I ride into the city area I wanna be heard.
You know.....loud pipes save lifes lol

This guy rides his Domi (like you) and David Coote put these rubber mounts on his exhaust .

Not just for vibration, also to allow expansion and contraction of the pipes as they heat / cool.

Dave Degens used to do this on his endurance race Dresdas in the 60s.

Expansion causes stress and stress + vibration = fracture, especially on pipes with limited other means of support.

There have been reports of Dominator pipes cracking here in U.K.

Well voodoo, you’re the first person I have ever heard complaining that catless shorties are too QUIET!!

Have you considered seeing a hearing specialist...?

I have the shorties with decat and think it's too quiet, Norton need to offer a louder set of shorties ! or i will cut some of the baffling out.

...on the open road the shorties and decat are great... but in town, I think it's too loud ! So I'm running the shorties with cats, and that's fine for me !

Rumour has it that there is a Shelby GT that hammers up and down through your quiet neighborhood, I would get a simple set of straight thru pipes on the Commando if you want to compete with the GT and the Dommi :)

We don't have a supported calibration for a Commando with megaphones. The air box volume and intake temperature on a Domi is very different from a Commando, hence the Domi megaphone map will not work on a Commando.

I use map 090 on my Commando with fully decatted SBN Dominator silencers.
Fueling is fine.

His was a Commando running megaphones?

Sorry. I’m wrong. Not 091 thats domi shorties. 092 perhaps?? I’ll check tomorrow. But yes!! John ran the map for domi open mega phones on his commando with his custom open race pipes. But of course lack of support for parts made him switch to suzuki so we never got to see any further developments.

I just took the dB killer out of my Zard 2:1 on my 2016 Commando Sport. I haven’t heard the domi megaphones in person so I can’t compare but this Zard without dB killer is as loud as I want. It’s almost painfully loud.
