Are there any Norton Commando riders out here in Contra Costa, CA (Concord, Walnut Creek, Martinez, Pleasant Hill...) that would like to meet up with their Nortons at a coffee shop? Be fun to look at other bikes, hear them, chat, exchange tips and tricks on tuning etc...

Just finished my Norton Commando 1968 Fastback restoration.

The first weekend in November the BSA club puts on a all British ride that starts and ends in Novato. BSA's are encouraged but all British bikes are welcome. We had about 200 this year, many were on Nortons. Put it on your calendar for November.

the ncnoc (northern california norton owners club) has regular rides from the san jose area regularly. not in coco county, but damned if you could find more norton owners together elsewhere in california.

You just missed me. I lived in Brentwood for 20 years, but move to Stockton a year ago. I lead the Delta Ride with the Norton Club in September every year. It leaves from Carl’s Jr. on Main Street in Oakley. There are a few club members in the Davis area and Andrew another member in Pleasanton. Go to www.nortonclub.com for the club calendar. The BSA club is a larger group and was started by an NCNOC member. As far as I know I the sole Norton rider in Stockton. You can PM me if you want more Brit club detail for the bay area. I’ve been involved for around 40 years.

That's awesome. Yes, definitely can make it to Oakley and Stockton in September. I am thinking to set up a regular meet-up for British motorcylists closer Concord/Walnut Creek area as well. At the moment I know of three Norton owners. Chris, Mike and myself. Chris is too old to ride and probably wants to sell his Norton. Mike's Norton should be ready to ride in February. Hope some more folks come out of their holes soon :)

The NCNOC holds monthly rides....check the website calendar. Feb ride usually starts in Niles, Ca. Typically a dozen riders although I believe current membership is around 150.

Good point. Looks like the Sweetheart Ride on Feb. 17th is next. Calendar is marked.

Also if anyone here wants to meet up with their British ride on Saturday, January 26th at Cup O'Jo in Clayton, let me know. I'll be there at 10am.

hey Joe. count me in. Im in San Ramon

I am in Pleasant Hill, CA. Used to go to bkfst every Thurs with a biker pal and then a quick ride. Have had bike on non op for a few years now but just put a new battery ,grips, and plugs in her. Also repaired my trusty fiberglass tank that was weeping a tad. Plan to sign her up again when the registration comes due. Be ready for a cruise then.

,

Great, let us know when you are ready or need a hand. I spent two years fixing up my Norton. It was a barn find and stored 35years outside.

Maybe can join in Clayton. Not that bad coming from Stockton then Marsh Creek Rd to Clayton.

That'd be great. If my Norton runs well that day (still fine tuning) I'll ride a bit back with you along Marsh Creek Rd up to Dear Valley Rd or up to Camino Diablo.

Hi Joe

I’m backing away. Was out this morning. Too cold in the AM for an hour long ride to Clayton. PM me sometime and we can connect when it gets warmer.

That's no problem at all. Later this year maybe. I'll be at the coffee shop tomorrow at 10am just in case someone feels like showing up. I need my daily morning coffee anyways.
