Just wanted to put in a good word for Matt, at Colorado Norton Works.

I ordered a breather from Matt, 0500-09, after seeing Jim Comstocks video, wet sump start wet-sump-start-t20950.html, and how well it copped with pumping the wet sumped oil back to the oil tank, thank you for posting that one Jim!.

I had exchanged a few emails with Matt, and phoned him last Friday, such a nice, helpful and patient guy!, a pleasure to do business with, Matt answered all of my questions, very informative, great to talk to someone as knowledgeable , enthusiastic and professional.

I think we are very lucky to have such people as Matt, and of course Jim Comstock!, helping us to improve our great Commandos, making them better still.

The only negative, it was very hard not to go ordering a hydraulic clutch kit and a single carburettor kit as well............

Just for balance, I have had very good service from RGM, Mick Hemmings, and of course Andover Norton too, Andy-chain as well, a really nice guy to deal with.

Thank you Matt, it was a real pleasure to talk to you, thank you for you're patience and help, I know I kept you on the phone too long!.....

Best regards,

Jonathan

+1 Matt
+ Jim
I have reached out to both those guys multiple times and have always recieved a quick, polite and definitely knowledgeable response. They both seem like genuine people.
I never had any dealings with Andy so I can say much about him, except he seems to know a lot about chains.

Satisfaction per dollar, I think CNW is the best bargain around. Buying something less than satisfactory can be damned expensive, regardless how little you paid.

I visited Matt when he was rebuilding my 750 as I was passing nearby on a road trip. Anyone in the area should take the time to visit as you will leave very impressed. His shop is like a museum. No dirty floors or oily rags lying around and parts are stored in cabinets with glass doors. There are 4 racks with bikes in progress which are flawless. How he does this this work without any signs of spills or mishaps is a mystery. He spent a lot of time showing me around and explaining the interesting collection of items on his walls. The finished bike is like fine artwork and it was difficult for me to put it on the road, but that would have denied me the real joy of his efforts. I am grateful for his unbounded passion and commitment to perfection and excellence.

Glad I came across this post, have seen CnW and was wondering how reputable it was. But I have no doubt now. Will be placing a few orders soon.

Norton owners are very fortunate to have a lot of high quality vendors. The list of questionable parts dealers is extremely small. I only have one person I won't buy from.

I'm only a nube but I have dealt with Matt over the years when tweaking my 750. Great guy and always a pleasure to deal with.

I was in Durango Co several years ago visiting a college friend and realized that I was 30 miles from CNW. I called Matt and asked if I could come see his shop. He was very receptive and treated me like a king when I visited him. We are lucky to have people like him.

Just wanted to add that dealing with CNW and Matt in particular has always been a positive experience, recently Matt has given he really helpful advice on tuning my Mk 3. It sports a host of parts supplied by CNW ie. Keihin carbys, hydraulic clutch, Brembo brakes and assorted polished alloy bits. Also fitted with Fullauto head (purchased here in Oz), my bike was no slow coach in standard trim except for stopping when fitted with the original disks but now my Norton goes harder, faster and stops on a dime. Once you commit to modify and customize your bike(s) really it's only your budget that limits what you want to do, I haven't any intention of ever parting with my bikes and have kept a complete record of every cent spent on them, thanks to CNW I am enjoying every time I ride.
Cheers, Simon

Having done many dealings with Matt over the years I can gladly say that he is the consummate professional. He operates in a very rarefied air of build quality and attention to detail and customer service that is without compromise. I did not have Matt build my bike but had him do the engine, transmission, forks etc. I just put it together using almost exclusive CNW parts. After my 75 850 was running for a bit I suspected a cylinder gasket compromise. I phoned Matt and he was in California picking up a donor bike and he simply made the effort to drive to my place, off his route and fix the offending gasket in person. This should speak volumes of of how Matt operates. I can't thank him enough and my Norton is uber reliable and a it just gets better each day. Thank you Matt!

Matt, CNW, great guy

I could write a book on how much of a stand up guy Matt is I've spent hours on the phone with him, spent thousand dollars with him and have never regretted one second of it... Matt has that great balance of knowing his shit... And peaceful
Humility I've always been made to feel welcome to talk to him,and encouraged to keep going on the things he's helped me with... I have a early CNW build that he and Doug did together back in the day and I've kept the machine current with CNW's technology as it's been developed and made available to us.... During these upgrades Matt has... When
Needed and asked.... Spent as much time as I needed to
Complete the task,my machine is headed back out to him
In the fall to have the E/start conversion done..... Yeah matts the real deal !!!
