Hi Clifffa

Have you thought about using Silicone brake fluid? it's not hygroscopic causes zero paint damage allegedly. I bought a bottle of the purple juice off ebay I am going to try it in my T160 . I have previously used it a lot in classic cars with out any problems.

haven't tried it on a master cylinder, but i'm thinking POR-15. "tuff" stuff! several folks over on the corvette forum have used it on MC without any kinds of problems. synthetic brake fluid would be a plus. check out this video -

Hi Esme,
I have heard of it, but never tried it. Is it true that you have to completely clear the system of any non silicone fluid before filling?

I doesn't play well with other fluids, I usually strip and wash all parts in meths rebuild as required.

I found an easier option, remove what was left of the paint with acetone and leave it "au naturel" It doesn't look too bad actually, and can be polished I guess.

Thanks anyway.

I assume you want brush on so you can do it in place but if not, read on. I powder coat mine. If they are apart, the masking is simple and the brake fluid doesn't bother the powder coat.
