I don't know how to post the picture, but if anybody wants to Google "Mama Cass Dream a Little Dream album cover", you'll see her.

Mama Cass on a Fastback?!

Do you realize if she'd shared that sandwich she choked on with Karen Carpenter, they'd both still be alive?

Boots and shorts match with the bike quite well. No sandwiches in sight so good to go for that moment in history. :!:

I'll always remember when she and the other mom and pops could not get their boat started. I rescued them with an on-the-spot carb adjustment. Some guy witnessed it and pressured me into a job that I really did not want ... fixing chain saws at a logging camp! Oh well, the fishing was good on my time off ... when I got time off. There was always another crisis.

So what has this to do with Nortons? Absolutely nothing .... but my Atlas was parked at the boat dock!!!

Harsh!

The other night VT PBS was using The Mamas & the Papas documentary film "California Dreaming" as part of a fund raiser. I got hooked watching it because it had such a great feel for a slice of time that was like no other. Near the end, at 51:38, there is a great photo of Cass resting on her BRG Fastback. Finally found it on YouTube.

Yeah, I saw that but missed the FB, it only showed the top of it. I guess I was too busy looking at Michelle.

Yes, even in the show Michelle says she died from a heart attack.

It's an urban myth that Mama Cass died by choking on a ham sandwich: http://www.snopes.com/music/artists/mamacass.asp.
Just trying to stop these myths being perpetuated.

I prefer to live in my world of fantasy where every absurd occurrence is hilarious rather than just sad. If you can come up with a good joke about her having a heart attack, I'll refute the sandwich story.

Well said! We might run into each other in that world of fun and fantasy. It's the same world that allows grownups to own and spend way too much time and money on Nortons.

thanks Bill that was the best viewing I have enjoyed for a wee while now. Highlights the years we listened to Radio Hauraki as kids [ from the time it first started when I lived in Taupo ].

Bring on the cool music videos guys,.

Well here you go Dereck. I'm not too sure how cool these are, although they're sort of in the same vein as The Mamas & the Papas. I'm really a pretty hard core rock fan, but whenever I hear these I get very homesick for the sixties.
