Hi Gents
Can i ask if anyone has fitted a Magura 13mm master cylinder??
And how did you get on with the fact you have to use mineral hydraulic fluid in it & how does this affect the caliper seals??

I went with the brembo m/c from CNW, works great , think it calls for DOT 5.1 ? .... no issues , improved front brake a lot .... not sure of make up of that particular fluid but everything just fine ...at the time also fitted a braided SS line from Matt as well ....

Yep, a ‘plus one’ on the Brembo from me. Got one on my Commando and now also on my T140. Really good feel, and the dog leg levers are just right too. Nice kit.

I'm not sure which Magura master cylinder you are using, but the manual for the Magura HC models calls for DOT 4 or 5.1 for the brake and DOT 4 or 6.1 or Magura "Blood" mineral oil for the clutch. Also my '99 R1100 BMW has a Magura master cylinder with Brembo calipers and has run DOT 4 for the last 10 years since that was called out in the manual. I also ran DOT 4 in a square reservoir 13 mm Magura (with Brembo 3034 4-piston caliper) on my cafe racer for the couple years I owned it.

Magura on the 750, Brembo on the 850, Dot 4 in both.

Ah yes R1100s in Mandarin brings back memories....
I was looking to fit the Magura 225 13mm master cylinder & a Lockheed caliper

Magura only use mineral oil in the clutch master cylinders, in fact the later types use DOT 5 in the cluck m/c too as fitted my my 2019 KTM.

The Magura 225 Brake master cylinder can be used with Dot 4 or 5 fluid
I remember the panic with my old R1100s where the brake Master wanted Dot 4/5 but the clutch wanted the Magura "Blood" mineral oil... and what happened when normal fluid attacked the clutch slave seals.... in literally minutes:eek::(
