How do I purchase a Madass brake master cylinder for my Commando? The review looks good, I saw one on a bike and the owner said it worked great, but I can't find the link to order one. Thanks, Rusty

I have been running one on my race bike for the last 12 months and can highly recommend it
Regards Mike

An old thread but I had the same question. The online store at the link above did not work but EBay was no problem, first hit when I searched there for Norton Commando master cylinder...

(FWIW ordered one because my stock unit that the PO resleeved seizes in very hot weather and I'm not the only one who has experienced this. Some cold water frees it up but need a better solution, just ordered the madass unit)

If you want to keep original switch gear then Madass has the best master cylinder kit. Comes with correct fittings and braided hose to suit.

Looks great and works well

Finally installed mine last night, looks great as was said and mates to the stock switchgear, mirror, and caliper perfectly. Was supplied with a braided hose, 4 new socket head screws, and a cut down allen wrench to install them. The only mod I still need to do is to change the terminals on the brake light wires, the new switch uses smaller push on terminal lugs but I think I have some and if not they are very easy to find.

FWIW I discovered that a short adjustable brake lever for a Honda CB500X fits the Madass MC and the length is good, very close to the lever supplied.

(I'd bought a set of short levers for my CB500X, didn't like the length on that bike and switched to long ones...anyway each set was $35 on Amazon)

I know it a very long shot, having never seen a CB55x, but by any chance does it have a cable clutch and does the clutch side fit on a Norton?

cheers

The CB500X does have a cable type clutch but I took a look and although the pivot and cable holes are in about the right spots the lever itself is way too thick...so making it work would require either machining the lever or making a new perch. I might actually try that eventually....

Will it fit the Mk3?

Looks like it will, just do not want splash out the cash and find out otherwise.

They do look on your bike Bluto.
