My 1972 750. I'm the 3rd owner, I've had it for 7 years. Second owner had it for 27 years. I'll just be happy to get it running. Sorry for the crappy cell phone photos

That looks like a Honda tail light. I have a couple of reasonably good Norton spares in a box somewhere...

it is an old honda tail light. Theres a norton guy with a bunch a old parts that said I could have it if I could make it work, so I took him up on it. There were about 30 holes drilled in the rear fender when I go it, so I said, what they heck.
I'm mainly trying to get the old thing to start, so I'm not worried about correct parts...yet :)

Hi carpenter. You have a good bike to start with. Getting it running is one thing. Getting it to be safe and reliable might be another. I picked up a bike from an "e-bay!" transaction and it almost killed me with bad brakes getting it home. The tank is worth something if it has not been eaten up internally. Inspect it and check this site for ideas on how to coat it. Good luck!

Hi Ron. Absolutely. There are pretty scarce here in Colorado. They also don't carry a lot of fuel and that can be an issue on long mountain rides.

I've got a NOS Hi-Rider fibre tank in tangerine. Are they worth LOTS of money ? :D

I quite fancy trying it on the Roadster actually. At least it'll mean that I run out of fuel closer to home !

Hi 79:
Only if it is metalflake
My wife always kids me about my numerous "short" trips when checking out a Norton. Close to home can be a good thing!

Compiling a couple of posts here. After rewiring to a very simplified schematic, making some improvised footpegs, getting a correct clutch cable, and cleaning the plates, I have a running Norton.
She starts on the 2nd or 3rd kick, idles ok, and I have ridden the bike around a few times.
I plan on making a short video and posting it on youtube this week.

Theres still work to be done before I fully trust the bike for more than a jaunt to the convenience store (tires, shocks, choke cables, amal rebuilds etc) but the main thing is, my bike is running...really running. I've said thanks to the forum members in each of my other posts and I'm saying it again here. This bike has become half my sanity at a hard time in my life. I really appreciate all the replies, responses, and bits of encouragement that have gotten my Norton to this point

I raise a glass of homebrew to you all
