Hi, does anyone know if there is a replacement seal for the Lucas ammeter please, Cheers, David

If you are not a purist, you can make a gasket from either 1/6 inch thick neoprene or synthetic cork.

If you have a die or punch of proper size, punch the inside hole, then using a razer knife, you can cut the outside to size using the ammeter bezel as a guide.

Slick

The trouble is getting the bezel tabs re-bent without breaking one. But I managed.

Not a proper flat rubber gasket, but I once used a rubber O ring it kept the water and rain out of the headlamp shell at least.

I have removed and replaced a few Lucas ammeters from headlight buckets over the years. The gasket is usually shot, and was some kind of flat moulded rubber that falls apart. I have used orings as a replacement. I don't want to split hairs, but the original gasket was not an oring. But one will work as a replacement. Or just use clear silicone and call it good.
