I owned one of these new back in 1975...sold in the early 80's.

Been looking for one for some time that could be restored. Found a decent example for $3500.

Engine was rebuilt a year ago. Has a few minor issues. Could be driven as is with a little work, but I want to restore it.

Here's a picture.

Let me know what you think.

Looks good Dennis

Thanks...been my dream to find one and do it up right. Had many British bikes years ago but liked the Norton the most.

Just got back into bikes after many years and have 7 other motorcycles...all Japanese. Got into Hondas because I just couldn't afford a Norton or a new Triumph :)

Will likely be asking a lot of questions here as I put this one back in order.

I would hop on it for that price Dennis. Hope a title comes with it. Good luck with your restoration. :)

On the surface it looks like the best bargain I have seen in many many years.

Move SWIFTLY Grasshopper, lest the opportunity vanish like a wisp of (Lucas) smoke...

I'd scoop it up. Might need a new taillight.? Older style would look good with the Corbin seat. Other than that it looks pretty good.

I'd certainly buy that one for that price, especially if it runs.

For comparison, about 2 years ago, I bought a 1974 Roadster with a locked motor. It had been sitting for 20 years. Every piece of rubber had to be replaced.
I got it for $2200 and have put in just under $2k. Countless hours. I enjoyed every hour spent on it. Luckily after unlocking it, the barrels, pistons and rings were fine. Still has great compression. I have put about 6,000 miles on it.

Replaced:
Shocks
Carbs(went to a used single Mikuni)
Exhaust
Tires
Headlight
Ignition(replace points with Pazon)
Cables
Battery
Steel oil lines
Steel brake line
Rectifier

Rebuilt:
All electrical connections
Handlebar control switches
Forks
Gearbox
Master Cylinder
Caliper
Rear Brake shoes
Cleaned nasty rusty gas tank
Valve job
Exhaust port inserts(bronze)

Yes , congrats ,when I showed up to buy my MK111, many others were ringing the seller's phone crazy and told him I leave my girlfriend here as collateral ,where's the nearest bank machine. I RAN to that machine that morning.
