Went for a ride this morning and forgot to turn the gas taps off. Float apparently stuck open on one carb. Drained at least a quart of gas from sump. Drained primary also but didn't appear contaminated. What else to do?
Pull plugs squirt oil into cylinders and pull valve cover caps and squirt oil down pushrods? Pull oil hose and try to prime pump and crank?

The timing chest will hold a pint maybe.
If you rode it, you need to drain the oil tank too, and pull the filter and drain it.

Take the plugs out and kick it over a few dozen times to force the fuel out of the cylinder(s). Squirt some oil in the cylinders and give it a few kicks. Ride it, it will be fine. Remember to shut the gas off...

Yep been there done that was lucky it was at home when it happened, just drain it out of everything including the oil tank and filter.

...What else to do?...

Fix the root cause. If that is the float then find out why the float stuck open and fix it.

If you used avgas it would evaporate before it gets to the engine. btdt
