Madass140 informs me he made a Lansdowne kit for an AMC bike owner a few years ago. It may have been an extended version. Did anyone here order a kit? If so, I'd like to exchange views.

Not sure if you're in the market but honestly save your money and buy from someone else.. Anyone else. Contact K-Tech or Maxton see if they can help you out. Sure it'll be a bit more up front but it'll save you $$, frustration, etc in the long run.
Have you had problems with the Madass Landsdownes?

Ed

Yes, but I also have problems with Madass products in general and his attitude. Mainly comes down to his QC and unwillingness to admit when he made a mistake, which is bad for customer service.

Honestly better to spend your dollar elsewhere. Yes maybe you have to spend a bit more, but will be worth it not to have to spend twice. And yeah I know a lot of you guys on here are happy with his products, all I can say is that I've now googled him extensively and have come to the conclusion that the issue is simply if you have a QC problem you've just wasted your money, if you don't then lucky you. Turns out I've had more QC issues with his products than not. Aside from just being sent the completely wrong sized products.
Hi Norluck,
Can you tell me what problems you had with the Madass Landsdownes? I ask because I have a set that I will be installing soon and would like any info you can give me about potential problems.

Thanks,
Ed

I have different problems with everything I've bought from him (3 wheels, yokes, dampers, carb gantry, etc) but in the case of the dampers my issue was that I suspect he sent me the wrong size.. The dampers lift my bike in the front over an inch higher than when I use the standard internals (slimline Norton). I've not read anything that would suggest this is normal, it's so high my centre stand doesn't work as it should. I've also had private conversations with several individuals who warned me off of them for various reasons. I'm going to get a set of K-Tech for my Mercury and likely a full Maxton (Ceriani) front end for the Manx frame. But a lot of people like the dampers so I wouldn't bother looking for problems if you've already purchased them.
What problems have you had with the wheels ,yokes and carb gantry?

This is way too off topic, I'll make a new post at some point detailing my issues and how his stuff compares to "competitors" products.

I would not do that personally, there are to many brown noser's with no real mechanical or machining experience and you will be hung out to dry.

Feel free to PM me as another Kiwi and we can swap stories. :D

Thank you for your info. I would like to know whether you ordered Landesdownes for a G-15 or for a Commando.
The reason I ask is that DP tells me that he provides differently machined Landsedownes for G15's,

Thanks,
Ed
