Hi - looking for a bit of a steer with kickstarter issues . .
i just washed off the clutch plates and reassembled (slipping clutch). Got the clutch operating lever sat correctly and clutch diaphram adjusted and working fine before closing up and 200 ml ATF poured in to finish. Unfortunately now the kick starter doesn't catch (no resistance). Gears and neutral select okay but kicker just spins round. Question is - do I need to loosen the clutch operator and reposition it or is there something else i should be looking for on the gearbox side ?
cheers

As there's no way for us to know if you've somehow managed to over-adjust it (or the cable) I can only suggest you slacken off the adjuster and try again (after fully slackening the cable). Screw the adjuster in until all play at the clutch lifter arm has just been removed, then back the adjuster off by about 1/4 - 1/2 a turn and lock it with the nut, then readjust the cable.

If that doesn't cure the problem, then the next logical step (as there was no apparent problem with the kickstart beforehand) would be to go back over the work you've done on the clutch.

well i did just that - loosened the clutch rod adjuster out a bit and what do you know - the kick starter engages again ! The arm that the clutch cable pulls on seems to be set just a tad further back too, phew :)

Also Verify the cable end lever ball has not slipped out the levers V, though likely not if kicker clutch engaging again.
