Each year at about this time, there is a gathering at a hotel in Melbourne, Australia to remember Ken Blake who died at the IOM TT in about 1980. He was one of Australia's top riders and was sponsored by Ron Angel. People who watched him in his last ride said they thought he was trying too hard and riding too fast. Before his IOM ride he rode one of Gus Kuhn's Seeley Commandos.

Yeah Alan
I rode from north Queensland to the Castrol 6 hour at Amaroo (west Sydney) a few times in the late seventies - normally about a 14 hour ride. Kenny was always a stand-out performer.
Watching that BM air-head out-muscle the Jap-bikes was special though.
Can't make it to Melbourne - good thoughts though.
Cheers
Rob
PS- I've been away for a week - out to Dirranbandi to see a Paul Kelly concert. It's about 600km west of Brisbane and the concert was a benefit for local kids education.
Paul Kelly is our Aussie poet laureate - equivalent to Bob Dylan and Neil Young rolled into one. It was outstanding but bloody cold (by my weak standards anyway!)

I have a friend who crashed a bike on the IOM on Mad Sunday. He ended up in Noble's hospital where they used a scrubbing brush and soapy water to get the gravel out of his back.
