Using my home modified Commando intake manifolds I have plenty of clearance for mounting the Keihin FCRs on a P11. However, I never liked the angle the cables end up at going over the head. They both rubbed on and were pushed up slightly by the head. Fortunately, the cable mount at the carburetors can be modified to change the cable angle.

The cable mount has to be removed from the carburetors and 2 rivets holding part of the two piece mount removed. Once the rivets are removed, the throttle cable mount can be moved up for better clearance over the 750 head. The holes in the cable mount are metric, but very close to 13/64ths" and can be threaded for 1/4-20 fasteners. I used 1/2" 1/4-20 stainless button heads.

Here are some pics:

Better angle IMO

Way better!
Yes it's a better angle for sure. It wouldn't be that difficult to make a custom cable mount for just about any reasonable angle, but having the holes already on the cable mount made it a quick relatively simple job.

I thought about doing it the day I put those Keihin carburetors on the engine, but never looked into what it would take. Removing the mount is a little fiddly. The lower socket head bolt holding the mount to the carburetor is locked in with some serious thread locker. I thought I was stripping it while backing it out at first. Anyway, jobs done. Highly recommended modification for anyone with an P11, G15, or similar that would want to install the Commando Keihin 35mm FCR kit on their straight up Norton motor.
