Isle of Man TT Direction Sign - Hairpin Bend

The signage for the IOm is terrific, especially for greenhorns like me. In fact, the signage all over the UK is very good, much better than in Canada or the US. I read that the type of lettering used today was designed for ease of viewing by WW2 pilots bringing their crippled machines and crews home from night flights.
What I liked about the IOm hairpin is that I am pretty sure it is the one place on the track that I went just as fast as the moderns. Everyone has to crank it down for that hairpin or else!
One other spot that went by rather quickly was the 90 degree turn at Ramsey. I decided to pass another bike just before the turn and had too much speed on. I recall looking at a crowd of 100 or so onlookers right there, jusf some bales of straw between me and them as I went round. It was knee down time and I just scraped thru at warp speed with the wheels a few inches from the straw barrier.
I'm sure it looked very professional, but all I could think of was how emabarassing it was going to be to crash in front of (or into) that crowd, not the pain and injury that would follow.

I wouldn’t say that about Liverpool, when I went there to get to the ferry, it was s*it. The DOT put the road signs up, then the local population nick them :!:
