Hi to all youse guys, I am originally from New Jersey where in 1972 I purchased my first and only Norton a 72 750 Commando with the combat engine, canary yellow, kept it for 10 years , rolled up the miles and troubles, but enjoyed ever minite on that bike. I was known in my circle as a super tuner ...lol because I was always messing with something ..... took several trips to Texas on it and had "issues" on most . I am looking to test ride an 850 this coming Sat. up in Richmond, cause I have not lost my passion for my old Norton. I now live in SW Va. have a beemer for the interstate, but want a classic back!! Any input welcomed....any line on a deal on a 72 750 commando with combat engine welcomed!! Anyone remember the "Sport Spot" up in Haledon ? Gary

Welcome Gary, Great place you found here. The first Norton I ever laid eyes on was a 72 in yellow and black, As I was only 12 at the time I was only riding friends mini bikes. But the guy that owned the 72 would ride up and down the street at the speed of sound, Boy did that ever have an effect on a 12 year old like me LOL. But the sound of it is something I really thought was cool, It just sounded so powerfull. Good luck on your purchase, Chuck.
