Hi
I have struggled with the height of my commando for 13 years. I have an Interstate which is fitted with the Norman hide stepped seat, that I find would be even better If lowered.
Had a quote today for the seat cover [that is cracked in one place] to be removed with the front of the seat base narrowed and part of the foam lowered at a cost of £75. Given that the old cover would be put back on, has anyone done anything similar before and is this a fair price.

Would be interested in any comments, I have also changed my boots for those with heels.

Thanks Neil.

any good upholstery shop can do the work for you and custom make it to your needs

i had my seat lowered a bit, not that the bike was to tall, but i wanted to sit a bit more into it - i took the seat to local auto upholstery place and talked to them about it and they did the seat below for me - most auto-places have experience with bike seats, so just call a few up - they can make a custom cover or use one from a supplier - i like them to make a custom cover as they tend to fit better if your doing a custom style seat - if you want to seat narrower a seat pan from a roadster will work we'll, you just need to cut the front 3-4 inches off - easy to do
can't comment on the price, but you pay for what you get

Interstate seat

Hi Neil

You can buy a new interstate seat for 135 pounds, I got the interstate seat with the hump for 135 pounds from Burton British Bikes bits also a new seat cover for the interstate seat for 29 pounds, so now I have one seat for solo and one for dual ridding, RGM also have the new seats and covers as well, the new seat covers come with all new clips and rubber for the base and is a easy job to do.

Hope this helps

Ashley
