I’ve never seen a stock air cleaner like this. What is it?
My parts book shows a drawing like this and says front air box plate for 750 Commando. My ‘72 doesn’t have this type. Maybe an earlier 750? What a pain to get the filter element in with the extra metal in the way.Just a silenced ham can. MK2-A if I remember right.
MkIIa is a plastic box, very similar to the MkIII e-startJust a silenced ham can. MK2-A if I remember right.

850 parts book shows it as a 750 front plate, but the '72 parts book doesn't list it.
This suggests it was fitted to the last 750s only.

We still don’t know why this version exists or what it went on (aside from not on the IIa or III).
That Klempfs listing is interesting. They seem to infer they have a source for that style.
Andover doesn’t list it.
