Did the 750's have 28 mm intake ports? I bough a new pair of intake manifolds 06-7819 and heat insulators 06-7842 which are supposed to be 30 mm and they measure about 28.3 mm, not 30. Looks like 30 mm at the carb end for the manifolds and 28 mm at the head end. The insulators also measure 28 mm. They don't match the 30 mm ports on my RH10 850 head. Is there another part number for those?

Funny you should ask. I was wondering the same thing as I have a 750 head that is just back from a Jim Comstock going over (very impressive) and was thinking about putting it on another engine. 28mm ports at the intake ports on the head, I haven't measured yet, but I'd bet that the mouths of the intake manifolds are 30mm, a schema that would increase velocity and swirl.

Yes, the 750 ports were slightly over 28mm.
The only 30 mm ports were on the RH10 head. Jim

062711 CARB.INLET MANIFOLD (32/32mm.)
062819 CARB.MANIFOLD (1 3/16"-1 1/8")
065196 CARB.INLET MANIFOLD (32/30mm.)

Edit: It appears that 065196 is no longer available from AN.

When I was restoring my 70 Roadster I noticed the difference in the intake manifolds. Went through my box of manifolds and noticed that some but not all had the part number cast into the inside of the manifold. I compared the ones I had against the head until I found the ones I needed. Thank god for being a bit of a packrat.
