insurance

I use Carol Nash and have for many years.

HOWEVER I would NOT recommend them as they have been a real pain in the arse lately with numerous ‘computer days no’ situations.

They even cancelled my policy whilst I was away! They wrote to me, but I was away! No email or phone call, even though they use both of those to try and sell me stuff!

Reason behind it all was the card payment failed for automatic renewal, no reason given for this, and no re-try made, and as I say, no attempt to contact me or warn me by phone or email.

It’s only by luck that I realised all this before riding uninsured.

Got sorted in the end, but it was HARD work and I got no appology or real explanation.

Forgive the long rant, but it’s just evidence to say DO NOT use Carol Nash. I will be looking at who others use with a view to moving my business.

ok who do people recommend for insurance?
David, I tried Bikesure and Bennett’s recently for a 50th Anniversary Cafe Racer with Sport bars and a one-off colour. Ended up going with Bikesure as Bennett’s didn’t even bother phoning back when I wanted to clarify the model details. Bikesure very helpful and attentive. Used to use CN but they seem to have taken on some keen young duckers and divers who like to give silly quotes and then do a deal there and then (in my experience). Good luck.

Depends what your criteria are. I just enter the details into one of the comparison sites and use the cheapest, as long as it's someone I've heard of. My three bikes are each with a different insurer, which was cheaper than any of the multi-bike policies. This also retains your no-claims for each bike, which isn't always the case with the multi-bike insurance. The Norton is with Post Office, underwritten by Zenith. One of my Triumphs is also underwritten by Zenith, but via Bennetts as it was cheaper than the Post Office for that one.

Bike sure want me to fit a tracker
As per your second thread - will they. Accept data tag? If not, the best/most reasonable priced are datatool trackers from £80.
I am with Bennets for both of my bikes - didn’t ask for data tracker.

Been with BeWiser on a multibike arrangement the last few years, no problems, then again no claims either. 5k mileage PA, no commuting keeps the premium reasonable and no chat about trackers. Had a word with the Bikesure boys at the Donington Hall Burnout, as they were looking bored, and obtained an indicative quote of just over £100.00 PA. policy not due to renew until Spring 2019 so we'll wait and see what the requote is around that time. The most important thing is compete it each year. There are definite penalties on sticking with the same insurer and my advise would be never let them auto-renew.
