I hereby propose a new ride, to be held on April 10th (the 100th day of 2013).

Bike and rider's age must total AT LEAST 100.

You may ride any route you choose, as long as it is at least 100 miles.

No time limit, as long as 100 miles is ridden on April 10th between 12:00 AM and 11:59 PM.

There are no awards, and no recognition.

I need to have a look-see then decide between the '66 or '67 Bonnies (oldest Norton I have is a '72)...

Ok, thursday morning I'm picking up a 1953 Zundapp 200, close enough to 1949.
But it needs a main bearing and the engine is apart. I won't make the 10th.

Sounds like fun but pretty much what Wes and I do every time we get at least as far as pavement.

Yea, like the snow, sand and salt will be gone. Next year maybe. You in the tropics of Wisc. ??

Sand, Salt and snow are just things to deal with. Can't hide from it all. Besides it's in the upper 30's right now, 40's by the end of the week. It's a heat wave!

Maybe some of you younger guys, and guys that don't have an older classic bike, can run the alternate ride:

You, your pillion, and your bike's ages must add up to at least 100, and you have to average at least 100 MPH for the entire ride.

Should be equally fun!

Or, run once the temperature reaches 100F.

I can deal with most everything but the sand. There's more than I care for in these parts.

The local municipality has decided to ignore the weather and not put anything but beet juice on the roads, It's pretty clear around here.

I wish. I'll wait for the first good rain.

The 1000 point version is this derelict Motorcycle Cannonball Run.

I finally had to park this '38 JD 'Popping Johnny" d/t rings and clutch and
bearings and valve sptitting as much oilly soot as smoke, but still chould chew its tires off with the slow going torque. Oh yeah pulling a 14" turning plow the front gets so light the tires are out of contact so the brake peddles replaced by levers so one then steers/aims like a tracked bulldozer turning sod like a wave of breaking surf with gut thumping lugging twin sound.

I'm 59 with a 72 (the frame may even be a 71). I think I fit. Now if the weather will give in a little.

Nothing is as old as it seems if its still alive. Bikes get new parts and upgrades and people replace old tissues and learn new stuff. Can ya imagine when petrol is finally outlawed and the age of pilot and bike rule has to include how old the batteries and fuel cells actually are... Their public safety sound devices could have a combustion sound setting of course.

I encountered this 555 club in Eureka Springs, there were 8 of em on the crap that put Brit Iron out of business. But they were living the road life the hard way, camping in rain and mess then enduring cramped bikes just for fun and depending on each others skills to keep going.
