Beautiful looking bike and lots of good technical info later on in the video.

The bobbers he builds are real nice also.

Cheers.

Interesting video. Thanks for posting it. I enjoyed it, although I have to disagree with some of his ideas, particularly the 30 mm vs 32 mm carb functions, but he's clearly paid his dues in the Norton builders' club:). I'd also take issue with calling it a Dunstall, but he's pretty clear about also saying it's in the Dunstall style, not an original Dunstall bike. I think the jury's still out about the bathtub chamber vs. the hemi (with or without squish). I've only worked on one Commando engine with a bathtub chamber, an 872 cc road racer. Unfortunately, we never got any dyno numbers on it, but on the track it didn't seem to me to have any obvious advantage over similar Commando engines with conventional hemi chambers. It would be nice to see some dyno comparisons, but you'd have to be pretty dedicated to go to that much work just out of curiosity. Factory tuner Jim Messler did some bathtub conversions here in the US (including the one I worked on), as did the late MEZ in England, and I've seen a couple others, but can't recall where. Maybe Herb Becker or Jim Comstock? Anyway, This guy is clearly serious about his Nortons.

That guy is supercool. I didn't like the look of his other norton with the humped tank and angled seat, but he is obviously a very talented guy. I love that he takes this bike out once a year, rides it 100 miles, then puts it away, to sleep until next year's ride. That guy loves that bike... it's a very cool bike.

I have the same fairing mounted on my commando. I don't think it makes my top end faster. It's pretty large as fairings go. I have gone 100mph on mine where if you duck down behind it at speed the suction pulls the sunglasses right off your face... I've lost 2 pair of cheap sunglasses so far in the same spot on the hiway where I like to crack open the throttle.

Sorry, am I going mad?

Weren’t we talking about this guy and his Norton building skills in another thread already?

Déjà vu?!?

Actually, I count 4 threads on this guy currently on this page...

Seems he has good bike building skills, but even better PR skills...!
