Hooked on Commando

Hooked as in hicks jerking fishes faces off or whipped on end of ski ropes. There's a lot of static when I compare corner cripples to Ms Peel, so want to brief clarify what I mean. Every other cycle on good surface when fork turned sharp enough or leaned to fouling cowling or over powered on heated tires, all loose it by changing lean angle, snatching forks into slappers or sliding wide opening radius not sharpening it. Some > more trying to lift back up others trying to hold down. When Peel taken to these limits only thing that happens on excess power is a side ways wheelie and that only happens in parking lot sharp turns at high speed, less a radius and just goes around like on a banked turn where handling has nil effect just air drag mass and power left. I am not good enough to enjoy fast fun on other cycles nor ever want to be as Peel is more than plenty for dummy weakling like me. So if bike takes skill and strength to control then its not anything I'm interested in but do worry for those who do. I am flabbergasted my tool of choose is such a horrific handler if left un-tamed. Don't seek feedback just imprinting the sense of hooked up good to me.

Hmmm... go trout fishing on the Commando strapping rod to length of seat hopping from hole to next hole or next crick. Arrived to see 6 Lb. test wrapped all about rear sprocket to pick out and re-rig. Dislike tearing out their little trouty faces hooked so have learned to cut line next to and eventually will fall out or rust away..On takeoff pissed or in pleasure will spin up a little dirtage before the pavement grabbage jolt . Good enough ?

Well, what can one say about that :!: :?: must get a translation book  Dixie-English," Oh i say old chap, be a splenid soul and pass the butter ,old bean"

I couldn't understand a word of what this thread is about but when I raced a TZ350 I only had a Commando as a road bike and I could really make it go. Even then I just wasn't good enough to find it's imperfections other then ground clearance. Analysis is paralyisis..

i personally wish i lived near hobot. i'm sure he'd be a helluva guy to have a few beers with in the garage and talk about bikes.

My wifey reads his tripe and she said he's a genious. She's a professional artist who pulls in big bucks. So be it. Poetry in my book too.

Is Ms. Peel some femineist version of Mrs. Peel from the 1960s British spy show the Avengers?

Oh yes , Emma I think ,no reply from Steve yet on this creative thread. Ain't the internet great for stirring it up though ? Off to Prince of Darkness rally in the morn'in. Rain hold off please.

Does ANYBODY care anymore, did they ever?

Hobot cares, obviously a great deal and hopes that someone else cares and reads his personal blog that he has chosen this forum to maintain his daily diaries

I really believe he should have his own sub forum here, that way he can blather on to himself in peace......

+1
If only you could keep him in one thread!

Easy guys, easy. I appreciate the passion the man has for motorcycling, for Commandos and for Diana Rigg. If I ever visit the States I'd go out of my way to drop by and have a beer with him.

I've had the priviledge of meeting him in person under a giant tree at the National in N.Y. and with Vodka ,and explaining my scoliosis back probs. Free advice in 105 degree heat. Stayed in the pool with other Nortoneers drinking mugs of frosty 99 cent beers the rest of that afternoon. Blasted abiout the Adirondacks next aft. with 100 others. Now that's the good life.

Respectfully gents,

If you're brain can't perform the mental crunches to decipher some of the sweet poetry in some (not all) of hobots posts, then what are you doing riding, and more importantly, what are you doing reading them? The man clearly has more passion about his bike(s) than you do.

If it were up to some of you old farts, this forum would just be repeated threads concerning how much oil you each burn on your sunday ride.

Artists and intellectuals and poets and dissenters etc. A little extreme here but you get my point ? The internet is so cool. Who would ever talk about censoring it's stuff ?
