I've got a MK2a, with late MK3 swingwarm setup.
Found a bottle of fifth wheel lube 1/3 full, brought it up almost full with the Lucas, then topped it of with the 80wgt. Shake well. Pretty dang thick, I think it should work OK.

I hope your mix makes it down through those two 1/16th inch little holes to get between the spindle and bushing

Heinz told me that when he was in charge of dealer tech for Berliner that they were taking off swing arms
and finding little of no lube in there where it was supposed to go, he said 95% of the lube found its way out of the end caps and slobbered down on the frame from there

right or wrong I don't know but Heinz felt either ream the holes out a little more or a light weight lube

he always had me put any old 40 weight motor oil in there

Maybe bar & chain oil too? Looks good!
Since I have a gallon of that stuff around here, it was in the running for the recipe until I found my old jug of Lucas Stabilizer!

I've never had any leaking from my endcaps. I think the earlier models did.

Heinz knew what i found, the only reason for lube in swing arm is to keep the hardened spindle surface from rusting as its so so much harder than the bushes which just hold enough oil to act as lube in spinning applications but nil help friction wise in the small swing arm back/forth arc compared to the loads acting on it. Btw the proper way and tool is to pump gear lube in by the end cap zerk and let excess drip out and repeat couple times a year to keep rust at bay. or Open holes up enough and spiral groove bushes to let pumped grease in from the center of spindle makes most sense to me, but that'd be setting a foot in hobot's far out camp taboo so may take next generation rust busters to catch up to old tractor implements. If ya want thickest oil try the engine honey's like STP or seek out a very hi end engine builder and use their rebuild oil that will not drip on a knife point in a day but still flows enough to get into spaces and hang around preventing rust too.

Then maybe that 5th wheel lube alone would be best, it's great stuff that works in a tough place.
