Spotted this in Norvil's latest advert;
" ATTENTION:
If you are contacted by our ex employees John Brisco, Les Malone or Les Allen, be aware that they no longer work for our company in any way."

Seems like an acrimonious split between good 'ol Les and part of his workforce. He is obviously worried they are going to try and cash in on Norvil's fantastic customer service record. Why would anyone want to try and pass themselves as being a Norvil employee when they aren't? The man is suffering from serious delusion. Come to that, why would anyone want to work for Norvil? What goes around comes around, hee, hee. :D

It's amazing what they can do with digital pics, good Ol' Les is actually smiling! There's a joke in there some where about being sold dodgy parts. Weren't they dodgy before they were nicked? (allegedly). Like I said what goes around comes around. :D

From sump magazine;
Meanwhile, Les Emery is now supplying spares on a wholesale arrangement to other legitimate Norton dealers—as opposed to supplying them on a more casual retail basis.

Would that be his "genuine Commando factory parts." :lol: :lol: :lol:

Most people are too scared of the Emerys to even ask for their money back.

In 2009, I asked Les for discount on a new Norvil lightweight rear brake disc, after the original one wore it's centre/carrier out in less than 3000 miles. I spoke to Les about this at Donnington when the Norton O.C. held it's 50th anniversary in 2009 where he had a stand, and he told me to ring him at work the next week. Co-incidentally, later on Les was walking around the bikes as I was gearing up to leave Donnington and I pointed out to him the many many Norvil parts on my bike, in fun but nevertheless to make a point, that I had bought from Norvil. So I rang him the following week as requested and had a long conversation on the telephone about the (crap) lightweight disc, and he pointed out to me that as I hadn't bought anything from him in two years he didn't see why I should have any money off a new one (also the original was just out of warranty but with a very low mileage which I admit could not be proved), conveniently forgetting the +£3000 I had spent in the two years before that. But the fact remained his lightweight disc had worn out at an unacceptably low milage <3K, and it had already been repaired once (new bobbins costing me £40) with a note put in the return parcel stating, bobbins are service items on Ducatis.......which I took to mean, don't complain as they are a service item and will wear (out).

Anyway, he wouldn't make a decision then and he wanted to have a weekend to consider his decision, so I was then subjected to ringing up again, and a dour sounding female (wife?), not Les who was unavailable, told me I could have £50 off a new rear lightweight disc. I felt humiliated when I looked back on the run of events, despite getting a small amount off the price.

So, due to this I will NEVER buy from Les again despite being awarded -£50, and the good thing is that it sent me across to his arch rival, Mick and Angela Hemmings who are a delight to deal with and we (Mick/Angela and I) have all benefited from Norvils quality :lol: :lol: of customer service........so thanks Les :wink:

And this replacement disc now hangs on my garage wall as a reminder of the above as it also wore out the carrier in <3000 miles.

I have now reverted to a standard Norton disc.

Roger at RGM is a good to deal with as well. Havent bought much from Andover yet, but what I got from them was just fine, good service too.
I have bought most of the Norton parts from Walridge, they have seem to have a million items in stock, not just Norton items either. There have been a couple of minor glitches, but overall service has been good there as well.

Used car? I wouldn't buy a paper bag from him. I think he'd sooner play with his trainset than have anything to do with motorbikes. The 'speech bubble' is missing from the photo, ".....you know fuck all about Norton's and fuck all about engineering....now fuck off!" Another successful business transaction for Les.

Did I mention that I also had a Norvil lightweight disc as my front brake as well? No? Well that's now on my garage wall alongside the knackered rear Norvil disc. The only difference is that the front disc managed more than twice as many miles as two rears....just over 8,000 miles before that wore the centre out. I didn't bother to even complain about that to the bearded one, and I changed the front disc to a '70s Solid Norvil disc with the serrated centre.....but got that from Mick Hemmings.

So I'll give that ebay listing a miss thanks.

And it won't come with any "Norvil warranty" like I was so pleased to have being bought second hand from ebay. :lol:

It's from his "Dealer of the Year" election campaign 2012.
