Hi Forum
I am rebuilding a 1975 Norton Commando 850 roadster. one focus with my rebuild will be to remove as many wires oil lines and cables as possible to give the bike a clean appearance. I have not been able to find anyone that supplies a long version of the oil line which runs to the cylinder head, that would allow it to be routed under the tank, down beside the frame and side cover and under the engine so as to visually remove it from the engine bay. Any one know of a supplier for this ?

there is an old boy at the Pirtek branch near me who has a genuine interest in old bikes... so he actually gives a sh*t - people like this are like gold dust these days!

They have access to all sorts of different fittings, so it's worth picking up a catalogue, as it may give you some good ideas!

Welcome! When I built a few custom bikes, "back in the day " fabricating was the norm. Why wouldn't you simply make what line configuration you want? :?:

Thanks guys. I might end up going the one off fabrication route but i am surprised that with all the excellent restorers out there such as CNW and others someone would have made one by now ....guess i will have to get one made..probably so it goes to a T piece above the head so as to reduce one more oil line problem. I will try contacting pirtek, they may be able to do one for me. Thanks again :)

Ive thought of this before as the overhead oil line routing is slightly unsightly. To run it much longer and beside the frame rails to end up as a drop - down to the head feed is interesting approach. I'm thinking nylon press-fit oil line would work well with plenty of protective wrap points to prevent vibration chafings. It would look SO much cleaner.

I like the original look, just an opinion. But I can understand.
