Does the cam tend to drive the helical-cut tachometer drive gear up and out of the engine case, or does it pull it down and into the case?

As it can't punch up through the case it ends up pulled fully R-ward, which is why cams don't need shims, just decent R thrust washer, w/o tabs.

Well duh that's why us N hemisphere guys can screw S hemisphere gals w/o worry d/t their reversed polarity of threads we end up unscrewing. Of course if one of the N/S pair is LH'd, motorcycle hobby could suffer.

Great! Now can somebody give me the mesurement from the flange face of the tach-drive gear housing to the end that goes into the engine case?

May I respectfully suggest you guys get proper rulers ; 22.12 mm is 7/8" !
Jeez if my old TD teacher heard you use the term "ruler" instead of "a rule" he would wack you round the back of the head with it whilst bellowing in your ear that (a ruler rules a country a rule is for measuring) !!!!!

Hi Baz,
I obtained a Grade 1 in Technical drawing "O" level, but a lower grade in English language!
But perhaps a Freudian slip...some proper rulers would be good for the world!
But let's not get political on this web site!
Cheers
Martin

Hey Baz, you didn't go to St Crispins in Wokingham did you? The TD and metalwork teachers were the only two there that I had any respect for
