Assuming this is a MkIII?
Lock ring, collet/s (as the 'collet' usually breaks in two), exhaust, spherical seating, head.

Although each MkIII 06-5260 collet is technically one item, it often breaks into two half sections when expanded to fit over the flared end of the pipe, not that it matters as it still works perfectly well in two half sections.

Note that the collet and spherical seating item numbers #31 & #32 on the MkIII parts book exploded drawing are wrong when compared against the item descriptions given in the parts list.

Item 32 as shown on the drawing is the seating and 31 is the collet.

first.
Insert the spherical seating into the head dished side outwards (hold it in with a dab of grease on the back)
Fit the collet inside the exhaust rose and then slide these over the downpipe up to the head and tighten the rose, there is a certain amount of angle adjustability with having the spherical seatings.
As mentioned the collets can split into two parts , but it doesn't cause any problems, just a bit fiddlier to assemble.

That's only possible if the pipes are the unbalanced type. If the pipes are the original balanced type with the cross-over stubs then the lockring/rose has to be fitted over the flared 'head' end of the pipe first and then the collet/s inserted.

I just went through this myself, with my first-ever install of the balanced pipes. Never having done it before, I couldn't figure out the one-piece collets that I had just received from Old Britts. I couldn't get the first one to expand enough to fit in the pipe head's groove and when I tried to expand ir a bit more, it broke. OH S#1t, I exclaimed. But I quickly realized it would work just like a set of valve keepers and being in two pieces didn't matter at all. On the second one, I just immediately "broke" the collet. A dab of grease between the collet(s)/pipe will hold them in place to make installation a bit less fiddly.
