Reading about head oil leaks reminds me of a pro.blem a friend had some time back.
No matter what he did the head leaked oil from about every where it could, well after many attempts . He pulled the head, and guess what? The cam followers had no.and i mean NO .oil return groves ground on the edges, the head could not return oil to the crankcase and the head pressure was building up, I often think the cam followers dont have enough oil passage space.
Other than the small oil return drilling the venting and oil retun as only a.small escape..past the followers...was only ONE set made without the groves?

Well un-beliveable, just found out a old set of followers with no chamfers!! So how is oil supposed to get back?

Hi John
Not certain what you are saying, a picture says a thousand words though!

Perhaps this photo will help?
Head venting?

I think he was saying he has followers without the chamfer, where the oil drains.

A quote from a blogger I frequent on his website said it best. “The typical Western Mind is at a disadvantage when shopping the world market, all so many here think all the world is the same as their back yard."

Thanks John & Bob I now understand which chamfers you mean! Although I did not realise that oil drainage relied upon these chamfers, I assumed it worked its way down the slots and holes in the followers,
Canuknut I do not have a Scooby doo what you are trying to tell us, sorry M8
