Head Oilway Blockage

Someone on Facebook posted an old article from Les noting that it’s possible for the spindle to block the oil way in the head. I went and checked mine and this was the worse one. I’m guessing pattern parts from Les could be worse.

Not a problem. The hole would have to be down to a pinhole before it would affect the flow.

The rocker to shaft clearance is <.001 so that is where the restriction is.

So as long as you can see the hole it's good to go. Phew.

It is one convoluted path. In the side, down the passageway to the spindle, through the slot in the spindle, hopefully not out the cover, through the spindle, out the flat and now around the spindle to the rocker. In the meantime isn't it also flowing out between the rocker and head (where the shim and spring are)? I need to open a valve cover while it's running just to see the mayhem.
