It's been a while since I've posted anything. I was wondering if someone had an answer to my issue. Was waxing my 73 850 Commando yesterday and noticed a single rear threaded stud ( appeares to be single head stud at rear of head, which goes through 4 fins of jug. In a V type of valley) there are 4 tiny holes right there also. I have found a couple of nuts in my collection that seem to thread, but, cannot or do not have any tool that will fit into small crevice of area to tighten. Is there a special tool? I assume as there are threads a bolt should be there? Any help would be appreciated. Robert TN

I'm guessing that it is upside down under the carbs in the centre rear? If so you need a 1/4 whitworth ring spanner (box end wrench) ground thinner on the outside to fit.

Or if you come across a stahlwille or acesa brand ring spanner of the correct size they are nice and slender and fit without modification.
