Hastings rings-dots

Got a set of Hastings rings. Top and second look identical, with dot and inside bevel on top. Is this correct? Are they using identical rings on top and second? Does that work for oil scraping on second ring?

yes Dot to the top. Inside bevel always to the top. The theory is that compression gases get behind that bevel and push out and down, to increase wall tension.
