I found this video interesting. When I was building my Seeley 850 back in the 70s a friend suggested fitting a V twin motor into the Mk3 Seeley frame. I always loved the HD XR750TT, however finding the two front heads to fit a sportster motor seemed impossible, and back then I don't believe the HD 5 speed gearbox was readily available. The Buell almost gets there, and the Britten certainly did however it did not have a two valve air cooled motor in it. It might be a good thing if there were race classes with a limitation on technology, so development might continue down the path of the HD sportster motor ? We could get some really fun motorcycles up and going .

Looks good, however weight distribution could be a problem. I don't like Norvins, a Triton is bad enough - the difference between that and a manx is quite significant. When you fit a heavy torquey motor back quite a bit in a featherbed frame, what are you creating ? It is never as simple as using the best motor in the best frame with the best gearbox and brakes to get the best bike. That is the stuff which fantasy is built on - does not necessarily give the expected result. It is easy to build something which will scare you shitless.

How would you be winding that bike up down the front straight at Phillip Island, getting it around turn one with the front end feeling vague, then trying to stop it with that stupid drum brake ? You'd probably grow an ulcer.
You should try it, Rohan.

Why would we even want to - you constantly rubbish everything that appears here along these lines. ?!
You have convinced us its a silly idea.....

And we can always go and buy a modern roadbike that will blow all these into the weeds.
And have good brakes, and a warranty !
