Happy Birthday Murray Walker.

He was the voice of F1 when I started watch the races in the '80. He made it so exciting to view, really adding to the appeal.
I recall seeing a string of his more humorous quotes, such as:
"Its raining and the track is wet'
" the third place car is about to lap the second place car"

"He's in the pit lane for his fire stop"

At Monaco: "Senna is in the swimming pool now"

EDIT: Found some more:
"
The lead car is unique, except for the one behind it which is identical.

There's nothing wrong with the car except that it's on fire.

I don't make mistakes. I make prophecies which immediately turn out to be wrong.

And now, excuse me while I interrupt myself.

And that just shows you how important the car is in Formula One Racing.

Either the car is stationary, or it's on the move.

That's history. I say history because it happened in the past.

and his birthday was the 10 October. And he got a mention for that on the UK TV F1 coverage last weekend too. And his dad was also heavily involved with motorsport.

His dad was a IOM TT winner and a works rider for Rudge, Sunbeam and Norton.

Murray Walker started with bikes and won a Gold Medal at the International Six Day Trial.
