Halfway rearsets anyone? (2020)

Nice work Rob !!

You know what I think would be a commercial success ? A Q/D kickstart for all these electric start bikes.

It’s only one bolt Cliffa…
True, but you have the stub of the shaft sticking out. My idea was to have the shaft come out just enough to clear the case / seal, but it has a square drive broached in the end so you can just "plug in" the temp kicker, then remove and stow it once used. A nice chrome plug could be inserted in the end when not in use.

I get it. Good idea. Not sure of the market size though…?

Thanks Sam - I won't be doing that though.
The jigs, drawings and DXF files are available to anyone who might want to make their own (or more) though.
This was purely an exercise in doing something for me - because I wanted it and thought it was possible.
Cheers
You know I almost feel like getting a real Commando (instead of my Mk 3 :)) just so I could take you up on that and have a set the same !

This is the OP on the steed in question.

Perhaps this is a better way of showing the ‘lower legs in line with torso’ theory. Certainly looks to be potentially more comfortable to me. Upper leg angle would have to change too if stock footrests mounts were to be used as a basis.

I like this bike very much….dual front disk brakes

Well... I've pulled all the parts off and sent them for chroming - hopefully 4 weeks!

Now I have to get used the the OEM "forward footpegs/controls" - feels like I'm riding a hog.
Cheers

Early Christmas present back from the chromers!
Now to make the bronze bush for the gear change pivot.
Cheers

Do you mean like the xs1100 yam used to have ?
The Kickstart was stowed under the seat from memory

I dislike the 'loop over' gear or brake lever that these bikes are usually fitted with so when i got my Mk3 to be a reliable starter 'on the button' I took the opportunity to remove the kickstart lever and make these.

Ditto on great effort and end result, thanks for posting it (and ....not your junk in the reflection...lol)

rob ss do you have a pic of the bracket you made for the rear brake switch? thanks
Sorry Alan for not responding sooner - it is not actually my idea at all, but that of our own @cliffa - see his thread (he suggested in post #92 on this thread) - kudos to him!

Make sure you look at his post #1 on that thread!
Cheers
Rob
