Did everything you guys said as per earlier post! " Just Won't Start %#*"
Checked the magnets on the Boyer, they were good. Sprayed in the ether, gave it a kick and she sputtered, so that was good.
Tickled the carbs till they flowed over, so that was good. Screwed the air and fuel mixture screws all the way in and back out to the settings I started with.

She slowly started coming to life and then.............! ! ! ! ! !........I was rewarded with that sweet sound I haven't heard for over 12 years ! ! !

I'm still not sure what one thing brought it to life, but it's been a reminder to me how fickle my old friend can be. I bought it new in 74 and we sort of grew up together.
But I haven't had a chance to pull her out of the cobwebs in a long time. Aw man, I'm getting sentimental now.
You guys have been the best! All through the last 2 years! As well, how great it is to know that there is someone out there that is able to help with anything that may come along.

Well I didn't get going in July as per plan, but it's still early Sept. and if I recall...she runs best when in finger numbing temperatures.

Thanks again guys
Chester

Congrats. It is a great feeling isn't it?

Congrads too. Wish I still had all the bikes I had over the years. Well enjoy.

Interesting starting frustration. i've had similar weird failures to start, after just sitting up or fixing some show stopper like bad connections or carb screws falling out, so took long kicking sessions before starting but once it did it became normal one or 2 kicks to get life again there after. After 12 yr not running hope nothing else interferes with the wonder of ancient Commando delights.

I can't believe it took me 6 tries to start today. Usually first time, probably didn't tickle enough, and it hasn't been started since the middle of July. I was starting to worry, but when it started it started and that was that.

Do you guys who start your bikes infrequently - at least kick them through a few revs regularly?

Probably as well it was unhurried , gives time for the wildlife to find alternate accomodation :P , and gets the OIL CIRCULATED about the insides .
Which is were it should be , so were told . :P

Bet the bikes feeling as pleased as you are . :D

I do.

And when starting after a week or two, oil on, gas on, choke on, one or two shoves through, key on, GO............gone!
