Guess Who

He's sitting on one of those Norton knock offs.
I like the shirt in the back ground.

You win...maybe too easy. How about where is this photo taken?

Can't remember who bought that Rotary, but Kenny did sell it. It's around, but cannot be registered in the US.

F1 Rotaries are only fun when they're on an open road with the throttle well above half way open. The carburation is flawed due to the long inlet tract to get the carbs away from the engine heat. This results in serious transmission snatch at low speeds. These engines need the throttle valve as close to the rotor as possible. All Commanders, Interpol 2, and Classic Rotaries have the better throttle arrangement with the butterflies about 1.5 inches from the rotor tips. (The SU carbs on these models has no throttle butterfly and is used to mix the fuel/air only and is 6 inches further away from the rotor.)

Don't understand why Matt interjected the rotary in post about a mentor Kenny Dreer but IOM video sucked me in till breathing though my gritted teeth as I'm wan't to do when getting on it. Thanx for alluding to hobot helmet view, I only wish it were mine but do understand the view of rising and lowering head depending on throttle, speed and brakes. That's part of what made me feel in that rotary saddle.

As pecking order maters among roosters, any figures on weight vs hp and torq on the new 961 and the 8V rotary? When it gets under 1 hp per 4 lb with pilot that piques my quivering.

Regardless ole Kenny has more power to wt in his Asian dragster than a row of road racers.
