I'm just finishing up a complete rewiring job on my '74 MK2 Commando. Thanks to the fantastic colored diagram from Grant Tiller and the info provided on Greg Marsh's website everything went smoothly.

I have one question though regarding grounding. I ran a 14 guage wire the length of the bike and tied in the rear taillight and signals as well as everything in the battery box. Up front under the gas tank I have 7 ground wires I have to connect to the 14 guage main ground. They are tach light, speedo light, ground from the headlight shell, engine, coil, horn (relocated) and Pazon. I'll run the Pazon wire to the coil and then to the main ground, which gets me down to 6 connections. So the question is, what is the best way to get the 6 wires into 1?

so first off, the original wiring had a ground point at the bottom of the headlight shell, i only brought 1 ground into the headlight shell and then used , a multi bus points to tie them all together , thus not complication the wiring under the tank.

I have one ground connection and the coil connections under the tank - no others - everything terminates in the headlight shell.

I take two new double connectors, remove the covering, tin the flat part, hold them together back to back with alligator clips and solder. Cover with heat shrink. That gives me 8 common bullet connections and I use that in the headlight shell.

I have the same m/c as yours. I also used Grant’s diagram. These are the connections I used.Very handy and readily available Grounding Advice

I only have one hole in the headlight shell, and have already utilized the ground point at the bottom of the headlight shell for the main beam and warning light. This leaves me with the 6 connections remaining under the tank. It sounds like some sort of weatherproof busbar is the best option.

Euro Strips can be cut to the number of needed connections and the wires don't need termination - screws make the connections.
