Re: Ceriani 230mm brake shoes

Best advice is to get a professional to do it –the shoes will fit the WHOLE of the drum if you have the brake plate & shoes skimmed down on a lathe mandrel.

I change my post it is not ceriani but grimeca ...
I think fsb 796 ferrodo fits in .
Any experience?

I have stopped using the replacement shoes, the compounds are not that good and on imperial shoes they substitute metric sizes which mean they are half worn new. So I send the original shoes out for relining and sizing to the dimensions I provide. The Ferodo shoes for Grimea should be the right size being metric, as to the compound being any good you can only buy them to find out, but if the compound is no good at least you have the shoes to get relined.

I raced for many years using an AJS 7R drum brake on the front and rear of my Triton. It was a continuous battle to make them effective and reliable enough for racing. A set of twin discs on the front is a much better option. If you are using the drum brake on the front of a road bike, take care when you are relying on it to do the right thing, especially in traffic.
