Hey gents.....I'm in the process of thinning out the wiring harness and was wondering if anybody could tell me if that wire can go.

It runs from the kill switch....to a connector....to the back of the bike near ther rectifier....where it ends up at a clip (wrong word) that's never been used.

Would I be able to get rid of that wire from the connector to the back of the bike ???

Thanks

Green and brown should be a light circuit. It should run from your ignition switch with a wire toward the rear for the tail light. There should be a run forward that powers the pilot light, instrument lights and the one in the switch cluster should be providing power for the turn indicators.

Edit - the above is possibly brown with green...and might not fit your description but coming from the switch cluster it is very probable. Is it possible the wire running toward the rear is green and purple? If so it is most likely for police models.

Well, the manual say the NG (brown and green) is the power feed to the tail and head light from the switch. There is also a LG/N (light green and brown) that is the power feeder to the directional signal switch from the flasher.

You better experiment before removing or just leave it alone.

Yes it is light green and brown.....that's the one!
I'll have to take another gander at that tomorrow!

If I don't have signal lights..do I require the wire?
Well....................no ...I guess not.....but.......it's just one wire and if you ever decide to add or the law say you need to, you will be able.

Is there a particular issue that compels you gut this wire or is it just the fact that it is there and not doing anything?
Anyhow it's your bike, do as you wish.

TURN SIGNALS DO NOT BELONG ON COMMANDOS.

Most concours judges won't take points off for taking blinkers off a Commando...

Same goes for Triumph Bonnevilles, and BSA big twins. It just ain't right.
