I am planning on doing some repairs to a couple of frames and am looking for dimensions for the tubing.

The UK made frame tubing measures 2 1/4 and 1 inch OD. Does anybody know the wall thickness/gauge?
I read that the 2 1/4 is 14 or 16 gauge, depending on the source of the info.

I read that the Italian frames are 60mm and 25 mm. Does anybody know what the wall thickness is?
I have a Mark 3 frame that measures 2/14 and 1 inch. I thought it would have used the metric tubing, but apparently not.

My 7/75 Mk3's frame also has Imperial size tubing.
It seems they went back to using British-made frames sometime during Mk3 production (probably when they dropped the non-matching 'F1' frame numbering system?).
Possibly the price of the Italian frames had increased to the point where they were no longer any cheaper than Reynolds, or perhaps it was due to the NVT's financial situation that the supply of Italian frames ended.

I don't know if its of any use to you but I see Andover sell all the frame parts in individual pieces

i have the rear loop sawn off my 72 bike, if you could use it i can send you the measurements
also i have a 850 mk2 frame , heavely smashed up as well , could cut it up and measure it
let me know by pm ( i am going away for a week )

lynxnsu, thank you for the offer to post the dimensions of the frame tubing when you get a chance. It will be useful information for anybody contemplating frame repair.
