Hello all,

I was hoping i would not have to post about these personal attacks. Anyone who has been a forum member for some time knows what I am talking about. When i created the forum many years ago and up until a year ago or so we have all been very friendly and have had the same goals. The Norton Commando! As administrators it is very hard to ban users who can easily come back and register as a new user, and carry on with the same negativity. Although that is what it has come down to now.

If you have a concern with another forum member please take it up with them directly and DO NOT POST your personal feelings whatever they might be. I speak for myself and 90% of the other members. If you have a problem with a certain post, topic or member or If you feel someone is posting bad information or advice pertaining to bike maintenance or similar, please send an email to the member and take it up with them directly and if that does not work send me an email and I will deal with the situation.

Hope this makes sense. We are tired of the attacks.

Thanks - Jerry

I used the foe feature to block two members both of whom I was unable to have a reasonable discussion with. These same members are constantly at war with someone on the site and often with one another.
Never having used the block feature before, I was surprised at how well it worked, as long as one resists the temptation to peek.
For me, the forum is now back to the way it always was, a great place to discuss the bikes we like so much, old British bikes in general, especially Norton Commandos.

Thank you jerry, as you know I had posted a couple of appeals for a return to civility and had stopped contributing to the site due to the decline in this and the blatant racism which was evident in some posts. I am glad to see that things have now calmed down and hopefully on those occasions when members disagree they can do so in a spirit of healthy and respectful debate.

Being a good mechanic does not automatically make one a good person.. And vice versa. If Breezy wants to help ''correct"" someones lack of mechanical expertise,
can we not ''correct'' his lack of communication skills. One of the things that made this forum stand out was a certain level of civility and decorum. That has been slipping away. Most people who read the interwebs realize the advice given is worth about what you paid for it. One post or one poster should not be taken as gospel. It is in consensus that we find the right way . I am not a very good mechanic, I have not been here very long, but I have immensely enjoyed my time spent here. Please, Gentlemen, can we return to civility?

Not that it matters, but I quit visiting this forum because of a few jokers that came on about the same time and had nothing but negative crap to say about everything. Apparently it didn't get any better over the months I was gone too bad becasue this used to be the best damn forums on the net and the only one I enjoyed.

It's still the best forum I've been on. I just read past the crap and don't get suckered into it. It's going to happen no matter where you go.

Thanks Jerry.

I'm relatively new here but it didnt take long to work out who's who, i was considering giving the forum the flick becoz of a couple of regular annoying posters that hust cant help themselves, maybe I'll just COMPLETELY ignore their posts like some others are doing.

"can't we all just get along" ..... couldn't resist, I love the site and would hate for it to shut down...wait a minute, does that make me a hater? Cj
