I have finally finished my 1974 850 MK2.
This forum has been of great assistance during the complete teardown & ressurection of this motorcycle.
I purchased this bike as a supposed 10000 mile bike, more like 110000 miles after I had gotten it home & checked it out properly.
Lets just say it was a good looking bike that upon proper inspection, became apparent that a complete teardown was required to put right
alot of previous owners sins & missdeads.
The only thing that hasn't been rebuilt, refurbished or replaced is the paint on the body work.
Special thanks to highdesert, as I bought his old Mikuni off him. Put it on & the bike started on the 2nd kick.
Another dear old friend of mine who is a retired tool maker & vintage motorcyle entusiast/restorer was instrumental in any milling & lathe work that was required. Special thanks to Bob!
My welder friend Dave deserves accolades for his talents. He is the only person I have or will allow to do any welding work I require on a motorcycle.
My Brother inlaw Phil must be thanked for his enthusiasm in polishing alloy that saved me alot of time & effort allowing me to get on with the rest.
MY Dear Wife deserves a medal for the support she has given & for living with me & everything Norton throughought the last 10 months.
Here are some pics that I hope the members & visitors here may enjoy..
