Good day to you all. Isn't it a bee u tee full day.
Just had one of those fantastic week ends that only come along once every couple of years.
Had a fund raiser Saturday night for the parents of a little girl, who has Cerebal palsy, and raised lots
of money to help with medication, had a great night along with it. But also....
Went from this...

Fantastic weekend. FINALLY

To this...

Fantastic weekend. FINALLY

Ya hoo. Took a few kicks, then clean plugs and away she went, then stopped, then went and kept going.
Good stream of oil with in seconds, but we did prime a fair bit.
Had couple of short rides around The Barrossa Valley, where my mate Baz lives, (he rebiult the engine) then retentioned, and checked valves
and loaded her and brought her home.
Took a ride along the coast, heading south.....

Port Noarlunga.

Fantastic weekend. FINALLY

Maslins Beach,... Nudist beach.

Fantastic weekend. FINALLY

Aldinga Beach looking along to Sellicks Beach. Was used for beach racing

Fantastic weekend. FINALLY

Then up into the hills.

Fantastic weekend. FINALLY

Fantastic weekend. FINALLY

And home. No oil leaks, no problems,
A big thanks to ALL those who helped along the way especially GP, PV, Hob, and JS.
Couple of hundred on the clock now and can feel the 4s and radiused followers wanting to work.
No vibes at all up to 3500. No more tingling fingers.
Thank you all very much.... Get out of my way.
AC.

When it's right, it's righteous. More and more are riding on! Glad to hear you are happy. Beautiful bike. Classic! :D

Yep. Sure is.
Oh yeah, forgot to say... Our son flew home from Afganistan yesturday. Sure glad he's out.
And there's still a couple of Town Houses avaliable, there right on the water front...
In Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne... what.. $1,000,000.00. Here... $510,000-750,000.
Thirty minutes to the city centre, or Five minutes to the country roads.
Come on over.

Congratulations AC! I hope I will be riding my Commando on those roads VERY soon as well.

What shop was that first photo taken?

That's my mate Baz. He used to do a lot of British work, but found it too time consuming to make easy money, I think,
so went to mainly dirt bikes. Almost retired now, but I'll take you up to see him one day, if you like.
Top bloke.
Where are you at with your bike.

Cool.

Just waiting on a seal, should be here any day now. Then put the timing cover back and if all goes accordin to plan, set the timing and I'm off. But if all went according to plan, I'd have been riding a couple weeks ago.

Its great to see another primo restored and smooth running nort on the road. I'll bet you're proud and the bike must attract a lot of attention. Many more miles of enjoyment to you.

Congrads & glad to hear your son got home safe. Nice looking bike and what a great place to ride! One complaint though, you road by "Mauslins", a nudist beach & didn't take some pictures with a few "Norton girls"? I think you need to go for a return trip for pictures.

Invigorating news and views Aussie. Love to ride there someday. I grew up in Fla so we had lots of what we called Australian pines growing all over especially lining each side of canals. Likely that 4S won't really come on until upper 6000's so more in store as you prove up what ya got now. Its such a pleasant power sense but knowing what's going on it there now i still tend to wonder how long it will last...

Thanks guys, Still got a bit of plumbing to do, oil feed to head, and not entirely happy with the breather line.
Also need a shorter brake hose at the front.

Fantastic weekend. FINALLY

Hob, I think the cam will be better than you anticipate, especially with the radiused followers.
Bye, I'm going for a ride while the good weather lasts. About 18 deg for a couple of days.
Perfect for running in a new motor.
he he he he .

Bike looks great AC, must've been a blast. Hope to get back out on mine later this week if this friggin' cold would sod off. Want to meet up with the local 59Club chapter.

Yeah but, it's Adelai...
...
sorry, just dozed off for a second there. Where was I?
Only kidding AC, That does sound like good value. It's enough to make you think Real Estate should be in your super plan.

It is. They will go up. It's worked so far.
gtsun,... Too nippy (nipplely) for photos just yet, will try in Summer.
AC.

Grabbed the chance to do some more running in today, am very pleased with everything, I can't
believe how little vibration there is. It's had about 6 hours running now at all sorts of speeds up
to 4,000 revs in top gear. Am cruising at 3,000 on open road and is very smooth. Not sure what speed, just under 100 kph. ?
as the speedo drive died.
Actually, is smooth at 2,000 and will pull away with no effort. Just wanted to try that.
I had 21tooth on gear box but felt it was constantly reving when out on the open road at 110 kph (70mph) ish.
We have lots of open road here, gets you away from the traffic.
Why rev a torqhey motor. So went up to 22 tooth and think it will be great . I think 3,500 - 3,750 at 110 (our open road limit) will be good.
The 4s cam, plus radiussed followers are working a treat, thanks Jim, and can feel a definate HP change at 3,000 revs criusing through the hills.
At 4,000 she is pulling hard, and will get 5,000 tomorrow, for a short blast, weather permitting. We are in winter, so all luck is fading fast.
As for the oil pick up mod, I can see a strong stream of oil, with no aeration at all to mention.
Have a good pair of carbs to fit thanks to PV, just wanted to get her going with old carbs,... no fidling.
No leaks yet.

Hi AC

Good to see you are happy but wait till you get the full force of your Cam, it only gets better.

Ashley

Great shots AC, might have to come over just to look at the scenery. Really keen to have a look at The Coorong now it's had a bit of a flush.
Hope you're loading up that engine to get the rings to seat, not just surfing the effortless wave of torque at fractional throttle openings. Apologies if I'm teaching Egg Sucking 101.

Ah yep, been giving her a few revs on the down hills, and a bit of load here an there.
Will stretch her a bit tomorrow.
Scenery is good now for a few months, then back to dead grass again.
We're the driest State in the driest Continent,.......
Coorong is looking fantastic. Will wait a few more weeks then try the Mullaway. Salmon good now.
AC.
