Dundrod reclaims it’s title as the world’s fastest road race

Makes you wonder how much faster Hickman could go if he was riding Conor Cummins bike which posted the highest speed ever recorded at Dundrod when he broke the beam on the speed trap on the Flying Kilo at 202.8mph

It seems the BMW hasn't been sorted out yet. Gave him a lot of trouble at the TT (Coolant?) and he admits hes down on top speed meanwhile it seems they've figured out the FireBlade

Top speed is more important than cornering speed ? If you are faster for 80% of the circuit and the other guy is faster for 20% - who wins ? There is an article about Kocinsky's RC45 Honda in the latest classic bike magazine. Most of the development resulted in the bike accelerating faster with minimal increase in top speed. When you are at top speed down a long straight, each 1 KPH increase in speed requires about 5 BHP. But getting better acceleration to almost the same speed is much cheaper. To my mind NASCAR is brainless exercise.

Depends on the circuit, who grabbed the lead first, and/or who made a critical mistake.

When you are racing it is normal to watch the guy in front of you to find places where you are at an advantage. If you waited for somebody such as our Ron Toombs to make a mistake, you would wait forever. All you can do is watch the relative speeds of the bikes and look for places where you are faster. It helps if you have gone around a few corners out of control, because then you know the maximum speeds at which you can get around them, if you really stick your neck out. However if you ride at that speed all the time, the other guys speed up, and you will probably crash first.
