Was wondering how many of you that have the TLS drum front brake have taken the block off plates out of the vents. I was kinda surprised to see them in there, and I've been told its a good way to get water in your brakes if you do remove them and ride in the rain. Is there any benefit to removing them at all?
Thanks

The trick is to not ride in the rain...

Riders Manual:
"The front brake air scoop entry and outlet are intentionally blanked off by sealing plates. For additional cooling in a hot climate or for track racing, these plates can be removed."

But I took mine out because I don't ride in the rain.

Well I don't make a habit of riding in the rain, but when you're several days away from home and gotta be back for work :( by a certain day it's kinda unavoidable. In they stay then!
Thanks

While you might get a little water in the brake through the vent it's probably pretty nominal. If you're concerned your front brake might be a little wet ride a bit with your hand on the lever to induce some drag. That will warm it up before you really need it.
