Drive side main seal removal

What's the technique for removing the mainseal without splitting the cases?

drill two small holes to accept equally small self tapping machine screws, prise seal out with pliers.

Thanks for that reply. I was thinking that but wanted to make sure. The seal has a metal outer ring, so it should be easy.

Indeed it is easy that way. However while starting to drill into the seal it is also very easy to skid off the seal and score the crankshaft right where the lip of the oil seal should seal. So first centre punch the seal before you start drilling :wink:
