Hi all,
I've bought a set of megaphone dominator pipes as my dommi only came with the standard peashooters.
The pipes have not arrived yet so I cannot offer them up to the bike and see what's needed so the question is this, do I need different brackets and foot pegs and if so does anyone know where these can be obtained or if someone has had this problem how did they get round it ie fabricate brackets or used different model pegs etc.

Kind regards
Steve

Yes.
You need different brackets and the race control frames. And also the shift rod.

Did the brackets come with the megaphones?

Finding them is going to be hard unless you make them or have them made for you.

Below are photos of the needed race frames and you could make up some different heel guards but below are the factory ones.

Mine are for the Domi naked, only difference is clear coat.

As mentioned, foot control hangers, heel plates, longer shift rod, and foot brake lever stop. If you go to the resources section of this forum, there's an installation guide there.
You'll also need to change the map.

Thanks guys, I will wait til they arrive and offer them up to see if I can fabricate the hangers. Spent ages finding the megaphones and they cost a bit but hopefully the end result will be worth it.
Looked at a previous thread about silences and will look at sourcing those to. Photos will come in handy so thanks Voodooo.

Happy riding.

I bought a set last year and it was just the pipes. I fabricated small brackets that then mounted them to the standard exhaust brackets. I’ll post up some more pictures. The original brackets and heel guards are pretty much unobtanium.....I did speak to Olley at Theil and he was looking at making the mounting bars, but not sure what came of that. I guess the advantage of using the existing mounts is you still have the vibration insulators in place, so the exhaust isn’t solidly mounted....some have cracked their mounts.

How do they sound ? Looks like your ground clearance has improved . Nice work.

Bloody good call actually, as the vibrations on the race control mountings do cause problems

Still pretty damn loud, but more socially acceptable...I like them. Not sure if they get more ground clearance or not....here are some pics next to the one and only ‘high bar’ Dominator.

The guy that'll be doing it, recently did these for one of his customers.....I'm liking that look! I'm thinking those, but higher like the 961 megaphones, and spring mounted up front.
No, just in stainless.

A few pcs of my brackets I made for my megas:

I made them the same thickness as the short open brackets

you can see here they needed a 'twsit' to be put in them:

If I was doing it again, I'd tweak the design slightly. You can see they don't center on the mounts properly...OCD I know lol!

and a final note, I had to extend the arm on the side stand so I could actually reach it! This was a tube of stainless I had laying around.

Very nice work indeed. You really have a metal working skill and the tools you need.

This is a good thing , you don't want them cracking .
I'm hoping that them bolting up to the original rubber type mounts will stop them cracking like the originally solid mounted Megas. Time will tell I guess!

Been a while since I logged in. But back in 2016, I had a replica set of megas made for my SS as I didn’t want to molest the originals to quieten them down. The fabricator laughed when he saw how the originals were solid mounted and ‘insisted’ on adding a rubber mount. 7 years later still going strong.

My bike is off to Raysons exhausts soon, see what we can come up with. I'm leaning towards a more traditional Manx tailpipe design, with the headers spring mounted.
